Oil pulling is an old, traditional remedy from the Indian folk medicine, which has plaque as a detoxifying and rejuvenating method for the teeth and gums.

All you have to do is to swish some unrefined, high-quality oil in the mouth for several minutes, in order to cleanse the oral cavity and destroy all bacteria in the mouth.

Coconut oil is the most commonly used oil for this purpose, as it has powerful anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, whitening, and enzymatic properties.

Oil pulling removes toxins, parasites, and bacteria from the mouth and the lymph system, looses up the sinuses, treats congestion and removes mucus from the throat.  It strengthens the gums and re-mineralizes the teeth.  These are the benefits of this method:

  • Naturally whitens the teeth
  • Detoxifies the body
  • Reduces harmful bacteria in the mouth, like Streptococcus mutant bacteria
  • Treats bad breath
  • Treats headaches and migraine
  • Reduces plaque and plaque-induced gingivitis
  • Restores hormonal balance
  • Boosts energy levels, by eliminating toxic matter from the system
  • Improves skin`s quality

Here is how to perform it:

Take ½ to 1 tablespoon of oil into the mouth, and swirl it between the teeth and around the gums. Swish it for about 15 minutes, and spit it out. Then, brush the teeth and rinse.

Make sure you do not swallow the oil, as it is full of the toxins and bacteria it has absorbed from the mouth.
